What the is this?
Comic books, rock 'n' roll and movies. I like to think that I've matured past 14-years-old but I suppose you will have to be the judge of that.

Brill Building R.I.P.

Folks, it's been a blast but things are changing. I am on the verge of becoming a college graduate. I already have something of a writing career going on. This blog has become more and more redundant to me. Occasionally I can muster up the psychic energy and can shame my fingers into writing for myself. Out of the few times I accomplish that I rarely come up with something I would want to share with the public. I no longer find blogging attractive.

At this point in my life I am much more happy when I'm tracking down stories, interviewing creators and hitting deadlines. I want to write but don't want to feel I'm in a vacuum. I want to collaborate with editors, interview subjects, other writers, artists, and whoever else. I know I serve the Comics Internet much better at Newsarama and PW Comics Week than posting bloody YouTube clips here. W

ithout giving much away I can assure you there will be more Brilly goodness out there, perhaps in a form you can hold in your hand. Of course, IanBrill.com lives. It will probably change and start updating when I've got a new article out.

Blogging led me to a lot of great people. Johanna, Graeme, Shane and Kevin are just the very, very top of a huge iceberg. You're all cool and I know through my interactions with you all I've become a better writer. Also, know that Mike redefines the word awesome. I wouldn't have started this darn thing without his inspiration.

I ain't leaving, I'm just getting better.

(And let's face it, I'll probably start up a new blog before the year's out. That's how these things usually work.)

Eat cocaine of America's gravestone

It was worth sitting through a terrible episode of SNL, a complete waste of Forest Whitaker, just for this two minutes of bizarreness.

Wounded soldier

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

So I finally find some time to write some good blog posts...and I run into computer trouble. I'm hoping things will be fixed soon but until then I'm going to have to be silent (right, like that's a huge difference). But don't worry, I have some really interesting stuff coming up for Newsarama and Publishers Weekly comics Week. You'll enjoy them, trust me.

Kirby left us today

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

He died when I was very young but I still miss Thousand Oaks's greatest resident. Thankfully he left us with a ton of work. I'm just discovering The Eternals which is basically Kirby's version of the creation myth. It's wonderful stuff.

R.I.P. Lee Bergere

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

"There is no honorable way to kill, no gentle way to destroy. There is nothing good in war except its ending."

I know things have been light here but that's only because things have been heavy in the world or work and school. I'll have some meaty articles soon. In the meantime pay your respects to the man who played Space Lincoln.
